Elizabeth H. Szoke

Elizabeth H. Szoke, 87, of Bethel Park, PA formerly of West Mifflin, PA passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest Frank Szoke.

Born on December 22, 1938, in Pittsburgh, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary A. Flaherty.

She was the loving mother of Ernie Szoke (Dawn) and Mimi Ferchak (Dennis). Elizabeth was a devoted grandmother to Breanna Centi (Gordon) and was overjoyed to become a great-grandmother to Evelyn Centi, a role she cherished deeply. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Pivirotto, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Mickey Flaherty, and sister, Anna Mae Kudrav.

Family was the center of Tiz’s life. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her loved ones, especially her granddaughter Breanna and great-granddaughter Evelyn. She treasured the lifelong friendships she shared for more than 50 years with her “Golden Girl YaYas,” Mary Ann and Pat. She retired three years ago from Pivirotto Real Estate, where she enjoyed working alongside her sister Barbara and brother-in-law Tony.

Elizabeth enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. She loved trying her luck with Pennsylvania Lottery scratch-offs and visits to the casino, indulging in sweets, completing word searches, and watching marathon episodes of Blue Bloods, Chicago Fire, and Law & Order: SVU. She also enjoyed shopping trips to Sam’s Club and Costco, relaxing with a glass of Moscato, savoring ice cream and Isaly’s chipped ham, treating herself to manicures with her sister and friends, and reading Woman’s World magazine.

Family and friends are welcome for a gathering on Saturday, August 8, from 10:00 a.m. until time of blessing service at 12:00 p.m. at 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317. All arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care.
