Erich Paulson Stabenow, 76, of Mt. Lebanon, PA, formerly of East Stroudsburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2019 with his family and Pastor at his side. He was born March 9, 1943 in Jamaica, NY to the late Margaret and Georg Stabenow. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 49 years, Amy Wunder Stabenow, children, Karl William, Todd Erich, Katherine Emma, son-in-law Yasser Dahab, and his treasured grandchildren, Andrew Erich and Emma Sophia Dahab. Erich is also survived by his brother Karl R. Stabenow, his wife Lynnda and their son Kraig, and his sister, Karen T. Stabenow and her husband Charles Carr.
Erich was a man of great faith who loved his family, his church, and his work. He was a graduate of Penn State, Pitt, and Duquesne with degrees in Civil Engineering, Master of Civil Engineering, and a MBA. His career spanned over 40 years as Project Managing Engineer for LTV Steel, US Steel, Core Engineering, and Bricmont Corporation. He loved to travel and often combined business with pleasure with visits to Denmark, and other places to visit family members. His passions included golf, whether with his friends in local leagues or with his sons, watching sunrises over the Atlantic or sunsets over the bays in Long Beach Island, NJ and Folly Beach, SC on family vacations, spending precious time with his grandchildren, and sitting and chatting on the front porch with family and friends  He loved to play pinochle and bridge and watch his flower gardens grow and thrive. He and Amy especially loved entertaining friends and enjoying their retirement time together.
Erich will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. A celebration of his life will be held in late September at the Mt. Lebanon United Lutheran Church. Time and date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Erich’s memory to Mt. Lebanon United Lutheran Church, 975 Washington Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15228.

I do sorry to hear of your loss. I am a long time friend but haven’t in touch as much as I should have been. My Godson Karl recently contacted me by internet. Sending love and prayers to you. Bruce Valoris
