Evelyn Grace Swarner, age 5, of Ruffs Dale, passed away tragically with her mother and brother on January 24, 2025.
Born on December 28, 2019, she was the beloved daughter of the late Karen Powers Swarner; granddaughter of Paul and Carolyn Powers and Blaine and Mary Swarner; Niece of Michael Powers (Sarah), Brian Powers (Fiancé Hanna) and Goldie Swarner; God daughter of Jill and Tyler.

Evelyn was a joyful and vibrant little girl who brought so much light to those around her. Although her time with us was far too brief, her spirit, curiosity, and laughter touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Evelyn was a proud preschool student at Harold Zion School. Her natural curiosity and strong will were evident from a young age—Evelyn had a gift for words, always eager to share her thoughts and ask questions about the world around her. She had an endless imagination and a particular fondness for dragons, dinosaurs, unicorns, and birds.

One of Evelyn’s greatest dreams was to get a duck as a pet. She would talk excitedly about how she’d take care of it, imagining the many ways she could make a little duck’s life full of love and adventure.
Evelyn loved to swim in Grandpap’s pool. She had a natural joy for the water, splashing and playing with a big smile on her face, eager to show off her diving skills.
She brought joy wherever she went, and her big heart and big words will be missed by all who knew her.

All services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the animal shelter of your choice.

I will never forget the day we met Evelyn. We got to see our friend Karen enter a new beautiful chapter of her life as a mother. Evelyn and Karen made a special visit to meet our son when he was born and give me company while I was home alone. She was such a beautiful baby girl. We are so deeply sorry for this tragic loss and our hearts will always be with you. Our deepest sympathies.
