Francis J. McCurry, 92, of Peters Township, PA, formerly of Monongahela, PA, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on May 8, 2025. Born on February 6, 1933, in Clairton, PA, he is the son of the late James and Elizabeth McCurry.

Loving husband of over 67 years to Arlene McCurry, with whom he built a beautiful family; Cherished father to Valerie (Marty) Colavincenzo, Kim (Ken) Leech, Craig (Brenda) McCurry, and Scott McCurry; Brother to Margaret “Peggy” Hartman and William “Bill” (Dianne) McCurry; Pap to Dan (Tiffany) Colavincenzo, Kayla (Dan) McNamara, Kelly Colavincenzo, Kourtney (Matt) Weiss, Christa (Michael) Colavincenzo; Andrew McCurry, Rachel McCurry, and Justin McCurry; Great-grandpap to James McNamara and Owen McNamara; He is also survived by many neices, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his siblings, Robert McCurry and Shirley Bullock.

 

A proud Korean War veteran, Fran served in the United States Army after graduating Monongahela High School as well as a stint at Penn State. He was a hard working and award winning salesman for Consolidated Graphic Communications in Bridgeville for 40+ years, accumulating many friends and colleagues.  He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures — golfing, playing bridge, and dancing with his wife.
Fran was a dedicated investor and had a passion for politics.  He cherished holidays with loved ones, and cheered so many of the children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.  Also, he enjoyed their many vacations in Arizona and other places.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, May 13th, 2025 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA, 15317. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 14th at St. Benedict the Abbott at 11AM, everyone please meet at the church. Burial will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at 12:30PM with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Fran’s name to Gallagher Hospice at 1370 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, PA, 15017 or Ridgecrest of McMurray at 441 Valleybrook Road, McMurray, PA, 15317.
