Fred A. White, 83, of Mars, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on July 10, 2022. Fred was predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy A. White, eldest son Bret K. White, parents Thomas E. and Jimmie Lou White of Griffin, GA, his sister Freida (Terry) Boghosian of Citrus Heights, CA, his brother Thomas White of Spartanburg, SC and eldest sister Virginia Bornstein of Griffin, GA.

Fred is survived by his sons, Kevin T. White, his wife Theresa of Pittsburgh, PA, and their daughters Amanda, Victoria, Abigail and Madeleine, great grandson Zane, great granddaughters Heidi and Azariah. Son Erik S. White, his wife Kristen of Rochester, NH and their daughters Taylor and Morgan.

Fred leaves behind a legacy of a deep love of country through his 23 years of military service in the U.S. Army. Fred was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division and later the Defense Intelligence Agency where he spent the majority of his years of service assigned to locations in France, University of Pittsburgh, Washington DC, Vietnam, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia and New Zealand. During his time in service to his country, Fred achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2 and was highly decorated being awarded the Legion of Merit, multiple Bronze Stars as well as many other awards and recognitions.

After retiring and settling with his family in Pittsburgh, PA, Fred became heavily involved in his community and later through his church, Christ Church at Grove Farm. Fred alongside his loving wife Dorothy immersed themselves in missionary work in Uganda. Through his experience and expertise, Fred was able to coordinate safe travel for dozens of missionaries who would do the Lord’s work reaching His people in Uganda.

Through Fred’s example, his sons followed in military service as well as first responders within their communities.

For many years Fred also owned and operated Pawdaddy’s Crafters Gallery in Ross Township, PA, a place where local artisans and crafters came together to share their work. The business was named after his moniker which was bestowed upon him by his eldest granddaughter. Pawdaddy’s was more than just a business, it was a community!

While Fred will be deeply missed, he leaves his mark on this world with humor, love of family, love of country and a deep sense of community!
