Gary Nagy, age 84 of Castle Shannon, formerly of West Mifflin passed away peacefully September 26, 2021 at home with his family by his side.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 60 years Kathleen.
Born on July 28, 1937, he was the son of the late Joseph and Christina (Cairns) Nagy. Loving father of Timothy (Denise) Nagy, Beth (Chad) Fink, Michael (Molly) Nagy, and the late Sharon (Gary) Patterson; brother of Robert Nagy and the late Joanne (Ray) Versetti; grandfather of Dr. Ally Nagy, Rebecca (Fiancée Dominic Visco), John and Brian Grilli, Caitlin Patterson, Laura and Sarah Fink, Michael, Megan and Mary Nagy and 5 great grandchildren; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was employed in the shipping department at US Steel – Homestead Works for 28 years, Allegheny County Elections for 12 years, and served in the US Army Reserve. His passion for sports throughout his life included Sandlot League baseball with the Duquesne Zemps and lunchtime basketball games at the Salvation Army in the city of Pittsburgh.  Family was his number 1 enjoyment. Gary coached his children’s little league baseball teams in Castle Shannon and loved attending all of his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. He enjoyed family gatherings at the house, a good competitive game of horseshoes and watching Steeler games. During his retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife, family, and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 3-8 pm at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Rd., McMurray, PA 15317, 724-260-5546.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 10:30 am at St. Louise de Marillac, 320 McMurray Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15241.
