Gayle Jean Shubert, age 73, of Robinson Township, formerly of Cranberry Township, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on August 4, 1952, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Gayle was the beloved daughter of the late Fred and Dorothy Hornung. She was the devoted wife of Albert Shubert for over 50 wonderful years, sharing a lifetime built on love, partnership, and family.
Gayle was a loving and proud mother to Sara (Kyle) Hahn and Leigh Anne (Andrew) Crouse, and a cherished grandmother to Jackson Mills, Clare Hahn, and Ellie Hahn, who brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by her loving siblings, Lynne (Dominic) Dominijanni, Joyce Dalesandro, and Jon (Coleen) Hornung; her brother-in-law, Joe (Donna) Shubert; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss her greatly.
In addition to her parents, Gayle was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Rip Dalesandro and her nephew, Justin Shubert.
Gayle found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments. She was known for baking copious amounts of cookies to share with those she loved, expressing her creativity through painting, getting lost in a good book, tending to her garden, and, above all, spending treasured time with family and friends. Her warmth, kindness, and generous spirit touched all who knew her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Rahim Remtulla and the entire staff at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Moon, as well as Jenna and the Pinnacle Hospice team, for their compassionate care, support, and kindness shown to Gayle and her family throughout her illness.
Friends and family will be received on Monday, April 27, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 5405 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Township, PA 15136.
