GLORIA A. GAWLAS (YOUNG), age 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 14, 2023. Gloria was born in Aspinwall to the late Emma E. Young (Brown) and Glenn A. Young on October 3, 1938. Gloria was a 1956 graduate of Aspinwall High School
Gloria is survived by her three children, Jami Q. Gawlas Tanski (Paul), Gregg A. Fischer (Lynda), and Debra Bubash (Fischer). Grandmother to Zackary Dimtroff, Aletta Fischer, Alaina Fischer, Jennifer Bubash O’Neill (Tim) and David Bubash, as well as great grandchildren.
Gloria had a strong love of music which led her to The Carnegie Mellon School of Music. She was one of the members of Starlets on Parade – one of the longest running KDKA radio musical shows in the 1940’s and 1950’s. Gloria went on in her career as the Chief Administrative Assistant with St. Francis Hospital for over 20 years.
