Gregory T. Lubic

July 30, 1949 – August 29, 2022

It is with great sadness that our beloved brother, Gregory T. Lubic, peacefully passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022. He is survived by his devoted sister, Linda (Eugene) Frediani, and his loving brothers, George “GK” (Regina), Gary (Susan), and Robert (Melissa). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Linda Phillips, Chris Lubic, Lauren and Kevin Kotar, Maya and Anthony Lubic and Makayla Mulholland. Also, surviving Greg are his great nephews and niece, Alec, Colin and Caroline Kotar.

Greg proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War where he received an Honorable Discharge. He had the utmost respect for the military and our law enforcement. Whenever he had the opportunity he would buy a breakfast, but, none the less, always made a point to thank those for their service.

Greg was an avid golfer and spent many hours playing the game that he loved. He particularly enjoyed his Friday Night League and his weekly round of golf on Wednesdays. Greg was also a lover of animals.  There were few years that he didn’t share pure joy with a faithful companion.

Throughout his life, the one thing that remained was his love for family. He also cherished each of the friendships that he made during his lifetime.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and George Lubic, his sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne and George (Sandy) Phillips and his nephew, Mark Phillips.

Friends will be received on Thursday, September 1, 2022 from 2 PM – 8 PM at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, (724) 260-5546. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022 at 10 AM at St John XXIII Parish (St. Benedict the Abbott Church), 120 Abington Drive, McMurray, PA 15317. Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Animal Friends in Greg’s honor.
