Gurdip S. Bains, 83, of Bethel Park, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
Fondly known as “Deep” to his family and friends and “Pop” to his children, Deep was the pillar of the family instilling the core values that would make them a strong and loving family unit.

Gurdip was born on March 11, 1939 in Lehli Kalan, India to Kartar Singh and Beant (Kaur) Bains. He graduated from Guru Nanak Engineering College in Ludhiana in 1963 as a mechanical engineer and worked for Luk Auto Company in Germany. In 1964, he married Santosh Kaur Biring, beginning their adventure as husband and wife. In 1970, they moved to USA. They lived in Baltimore, Gettysburg and 1998, Bethel Park became their forever home.

Deep is survived by his wife, Santos, son Ken (Marianne), daughter Rupina Leake, three brothers and one sister. He is preceded in death by his parents and older sister.

Deep’s legacy is his unwavering love and support to his immediate and extended families. Throughout his adult life he helped support and guide his siblings as well as nieces and nephews. If you ever crossed paths with him you know that he was one of the kindest, sincere and bighearted person you would ever meet.

Friends are welcome to join the family on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 3:00 pm at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Rd., McMurray, PA 15317, 724-260-5546. In lieu of flowers, donations to Parkinson’s foundation would be appreciated.
