Harry Clay Snider Jr. “Pops”

Harry Clay Snider Jr., also known as “Pops,” of Bridgeville, passed away on August 25, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on May 11, 1941, he was the cherished son of the late Mary and Harry Clay Snider Sr.
Harry is survived by his wife, Morlene Pringle Snider; his beloved son, Michael (Krista) Snider; and his cherished grandchildren, Jaime (Wes) Burks and the late Andrew Hubbard. He was a proud great-grandfather to Archer and Aurora Burks. In addition, he leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly. He is preceded in death by his siblings, with whom he shared many precious memories.
A true adventurer at heart, Harry had a passion for motorcycles and was a proud original member of the Freedom Fighters Veterans Motorcycle Club. His love for sailing on his sailboat brought him much joy, as did his involvement with the Dormont Historical Society and the Dormont High School Reunion Committee. An avid woodworker, Harry dedicated countless hours to crafting beautiful pieces, a testament to his skill and patience. He enjoyed spending time with his Punxsutawney family.
Harry’s commitment to service extended beyond his personal interests. He was a staunch supporter of first responders and veterans, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1963 to 1967, where he earned the rank of Yeoman Petty Officer 3rd Class. His dedication to his country was matched by his active membership in the American Legion Post 613 in Finleyville.
Harry was also known for his enjoyment of shooting and target practice, reflecting his disciplined and focused nature.
A service with full military honors will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Rd., Bridgeville, PA 15017 on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 10 am. Harry will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, unwavering dedication, and the many lives he touched through his service and passions.
