Hattie Mae Jones, the daughter of the late Bessie Edwards and James Tyler, was born on June 21, 1944, in Emporia, VA. She attended Greenville County Public Schools in Virginia before marrying William Lee Jones and moving to Pittsburgh, PA in the late 1960s.
Hattie was a favorite mixologist to many in Pittsburgh before working at the Greater Pittsburgh International Airport, for more than 20 years until her retirement. Throughout life she loved and lived life to the fullest with visiting the casino, bingo, bowling, and playing cards some of her major interests. Hattie enjoyed traveling and spending summers and holidays with her family.
In addition to her parents, Hattie was predeceased by her siblings James “Treeman” Edwards, Jimmy Edwards and Deborah L. Wall; son-in-law Jerome Boozer and sister-in law Melissa Edwards.
Hattie leaves to mourn, her children Nathaniel Epps and Rose Marie Jones-Boozer; siblings, Thomas Edwards (Gloria) of Emporia, VA, Wanda Edwards (Samuel) of Lawrenceville, VA, Diane Edwards of Newport News, VA, Samuel Edwards (Dinise) of Newport News, PA, Silas “Neil” Edwards of Providence, VA; and Marjorie Edwards of Emporia; Grandchildren, Nathaniel L. Jones of Pittsburgh, PA, Fredric C. Underwood III (Toniya) of Charlotte, NC, Ashlee Johnson (Daris) of Baltimore, MD and Sameera Burton (Curt) of Pittsburgh, PA; 12 great grandchildren, bonus daughter Armentral L. Jones of Pittsburgh, PA and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Friends will be received on December 22, 2025 from 10 AM until the time of service at 11AM at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, 271 Paulson Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15206. Repast immediately after the service.
