Helen M. Watson, age 93, of Upper St. Clair, formerly of Forest Hills passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on January 11, 2022.

She was the daughter of the late Elsie and Wilbert Milligan.

Beloved wife of 69 years to her dearest husband Jack Watson; loving mother of Claire (Charles) Thornburgh, Susan Watson, Gretchen (Richard) Stokes and the late Rebecca (surviving: Randy) Ferrari; grandmother of Lindsay Ferrari, Jessica (Patrick) Redmond, Caitlin (Scott) Springer, Meghan Thornburgh, Justin (Sarah) Thornburgh, Allison Kaye Stokes, Jackson Stokes, and Elizabeth Stokes; great grandmother of McKenna Jordan Springer and Sloane Rebecca Redmond.

Helen was a Health and Physical Education teacher and winning coach for Woodland Hills School District and Churchill Area School District. She loved antiques and was the former owner of Edgewood Station Antiques. She had a deep  faith and was a member, Deacon and Elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Her philosophy in life was “Trust and Obey in God.” God knows the rest of her story.

A joyful celebration of her life will be held at a date to be announced. Inurnment will be private, family only, at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Friendship Village Team Member Appreciation Fund, 1290 Boyce Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15241 or Westminster Presbyterian Church Youth Program, 2040 Washington Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15241.

The family wishes to thank the Friendship Village team members and OSPTA Hospice staff, who lovingly cared for Helen.

My husband and I usually sat behind, or in front of Helen and Jack in church. She always had a big smile on her face and dressed to perfection. I teased her about her lovely jackets, as I was a jacket person also. She will be missed by friends at church. We are very sorry for her loss.
