I met Helen, Pete, and Michael when I was 9 years old in the summer of 1975, shortly following the death of their daughter, Sherri, and their move to Michigan. To say that they were the salt of the earth would be a grave understatement. TheI went to school with Michael and we were chums growing up. Pete and Helen were so good to me when I was a kid and I can never truly repay them for that warmth and kindness. Helen was a true one of a kind, a wonderful human being who suffered through more hardship and heartache than any one person should ever have to endure. Still, she was a positive, upbeat, fun, loving human being. I am glad that I brought my mother and daughters to see here a couple of summers ago. She, along with Pete and Michael, will always have a very special place in my heart. Rest in Peace. I love you, Mrs. Platusich. You can rest now. God Bless!

Helen, you and Pete were always so good to my mom and dad. Pete's cousin Ann (my mom) is alive at 97, and living in an Assisted living facility that is 2 minutes from my home in Utica Michigan. I know that some day in the not too distant future you all will be together again . Rest in peace!
