Howard Jeffrey Fleischer

November 28, 1952 – June 19, 2026

Howard Jeffrey Fleischer, born in the Bronx, New York, passed away on June 19, 2026, surrounded by those who loved him best.

A United States Navy veteran, Howard was a man of remarkable intelligence, quick wit, and a generous heart. He had a natural gift for making people laugh and loved sharing stories that reflected his curiosity, humor, and unique perspective on life.

Howard found deep purpose in walking the path of recovery. He generously shared his experience, strength, and hope with others, leaving a lasting impression on the many lives he touched.

An avid cook, some of Howard’s happiest moments were spent bringing family and friends together around a table filled with good food, deep conversation, and abundant joy. He embraced life’s adventure and imagination, holding a special affection for the movie Hook and its reminder to never lose one’s sense of wonder.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Bertha Fleischer, and his sister, Linda Fleischer.

He is survived by his cherished daughters, Shaena and Erin Fleischer. One of their dearest memories was how he always told them they were the most important things in the world to him. He is also survived by his beloved partner of thirty years, Michelle Harper, with whom he shared a life of companionship, shared values, and unwavering devotion.

Howard’s warmth, intellect, and humor will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Howard will be buried with military honors at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on July 3.
