James “Jay” Richard Riggs

James “Jay” Richard Riggs, age 73, of Lincoln Borough, Pennsylvania, formerly of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully surrounded by family.

Jay was born on August 27, 1952, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the son of the late James Oliver and Dorothy (Hoover) Dawson, and stepson of Joseph Riggs.

Jay was the beloved husband of Melissa (Chalfant) Riggs. He was a loving father to Jonathan Riggs, Jamie Riggs, Jacob Riggs, all at home, and Megan Hall (Michael Grove) of Lusby, Maryland. He was a proud grandfather to several grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sister, Sandra (Donald) Burt; his mother-in-law, Jeanne (Empfield) Chalfant; and his brother-in-law, Thomas (Mary) Chalfant, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Jay will be remembered for his dedication to his family and the love he shared with all who knew him.
