James “Jim” M. Bonetti, 76, of Canonsburg, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 15, 2025. Born on June 24, 1948 in Pittsburgh, PA he is the son of the late Ricco and Rena Bonetti.
Loving husband of 53 years to Teresa Bonetti; Beloved father of Angela (David) Kunca; Cherished pappy of Ryan, Derek, and Olivia; Brother to Stephen (Arlene) Bonetti; Brother-in-law of Janis Bonetti and Celeste (Robert) Myers; He is also blessed with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Bonetti.
Jim dedicated over two decades of his life to Power Piping, where he spent 22 years forging strong connections in sales and traveling the world to places such as Europe, Japan, Australia, Egypt, and Borneo. His career took a new and exciting turn in 1994, when Jim, his brother Robert, and a group of fellow investors purchased the pipe hanger division from the company and founded Bergen Power Pipe Supports. As President and CEO, Jim poured his energy into the business, contributing to its growth until his well-earned retirement in 2013.
Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman and brought his outdoor skills to many places, including Alaska and Namibia. He was known as a master of barbecue and was notorious for his skillful smoking of meats. He was also a proud member of the Alpine Club of Bridgeville. Jim will be remembered for his great sense of humor that could brighten any room. He never turned down a good joke — or a scoop of ice cream.
The family would like to give a special thank you to his lifelong friend Bob Stadler for visiting faithfully and for making Jim laugh by talking about “old times”. The family is also forever grateful to his care giving angels, Nicole and Cara, for providing not only care but love, comfort, joy, and kindness over the last 18 months.
Friends and family will be received Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 2pm – 4pm and 6pm – 8pm at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, located at 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA, 15317.
