James Wiley Burns, 87, of Waynesburg, died Tuesday, December 26, 2017 in Waynesburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Waynesburg.  

He was born December 18, 1930, in his home, a son of Irene and Morris Burns of Wind Ridge.  His brother John Burns and sister Sue Mazzie, survive.  Brothers Frank and Jack, deceased.

Mr. Burns was a graduate of Richhill High School, where he met, fell in love with and married his lifelong partner, wife and friend, Gladys Jeanne Burns, deceased.  They were married for 65 years.

He was a loving and devoted father of two children, a son, the late James Lawrence Burns (Mildred), and a daughter Jackie Lynn Burns Young (Kenneth).  His granddaughter Nikia

Rae Burns Ricciuti (Nathan), and great grandson Hayden James Ricciuti were the joy and loves of his life.

Mr. Burns was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Waynesburg.  After graduating from high school, he attended Waynesburg College where he played football, earned a varsity award and participated on the All County Team.  He worked for Columbia Gas, ran several Exxon franchises, a car wash and a restaurant. He was also a member of the

Greene County Industrial Development Corporation and a member of the Pennsylvania

Dealers Association.  After retirement, for the following 20 years, he drove a coach bus for Central Cab and school bus for Laid Law.  He was a well known figure in Greene County who loved his family and friends to the fullest.

Arrangements were entrusted to Cremation and Funeral Care, Danielle Andy Belusko, funeral director/supervisor, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317.

God graced all who know him with a kind, giving and loving man who will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
