Jane C. Kribbet

Jane C. Kribbet, 89, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026. Born on June 26, 1936, in Highland Park, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Sallie (Read) Smith. 

Jane graduated from Mercy School of Nursing in Detroit in 1958 and dedicated her life to caring for others as a registered nurse. She served for many years at Reynoldsville Medical Center and later as a nursing home supervisor at Christ the King Manor in DuBois, Pennsylvania, where she was known for her compassion, strength, and unwavering commitment to those in her care. 

A woman of deep and abiding Catholic faith, Jane lived her life devoted to God, family, and service to others. She faithfully attended Mass whenever possible, often attending daily Mass throughout her life. Her faith guided every aspect of her life and was reflected in her kindness, generosity, humility, and steadfast love for those around her. Jane truly lived as a good and faithful servant. 

Jane was also well known in her community for organizing and running the annual Chinese auction. She always insisted that ticket prices remain affordable so everyone could participate, believing that fellowship and joy should be shared by all. 

Jane shared 40 loving years of marriage with the love of her life, the late Peter V. Kribbet Jr., DDS. Together they built a devoted family and raised five children, who survived her: Amy C. (Daniel) VanderMolen, Sallie E. Kribbet, Marjorie A. Kribbet, Peter V. (Robin) Kribbet III, and Anna M. Kribbet. 

She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Matthew VanderMolen, Marlee (Nate) VanderMolen, Elli (Dominic) Niewald, Tonya Gamelin, Tara Gamelin, Katherine (Charlie) Peterson, Alexandra (Matthew) Alley, T.J. (Michele) Anderson, and Luke (Christa) Anderson and 21 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Geraldine Anderson and Mary Bruce.
