Jane Ross Yelanich, 76, formerly of Donora and Carroll Township, Pennsylvania, now of Baldwin.  She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Zofcin, son-in-law Walter Zofcin, grandchildren Ross Zofcin and Brady Zofcin all of Baldwin, sister and brother-in-law, Kay Hayward and Harry Hayward of Greensburg, and her longtime companion Gale Campbell of Harrison City.  She is also survived by niece Amy (Thomas) Rodgers and Gunnar, Grayson and Gannon Rodgers of Greensburg, and niece by marriage Jennifer Hayward and Remi and Winni Hayward of Sewickley.  Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Fred A. Ross, Jr. and Mary “Billie” Ross of Donora, her nephew, Christopher Hayward of Sewickley, her mother-in-law Laura Caugherty of Blairsville, and her husband, Stephen Yelanich of Carroll Township.

Jane started her work life early serving ice cream in her family’s pharmacy and ice cream counter known as Ross Quality Pharmacy in Donora, Pennsylvania.  She worked most of her career as a teacher of English, public speaking, stage crew and drama in the Ringgold School District.  Outside of her teaching duties, Jane was a helper to students experiencing academic or life challenges and as a union steward and officer in her local of the Pennsylvania State Education Association.

Jane was a devoted mother to Jennifer and grandmother to Ross and Brady.  After retiring, she enjoyed sailing, camping, and snowbirding to Florida with her long-time companion Gale Campbell.  She is fondly remembered by Gale’s children (and fellow campers) Andrew Campbell of Bethel Park and Rich (Maren) Campbell and children, Hudson and Sylvie, of Chicago.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at Georgetown Centre in Pleasant Hills, 526 East Bruceton Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236, on November 17, 2024 from 1 pm until 5 pm.  Internment will be private.

Many warm thanks to Jane’s phenomenal care-takers, including the devoted staff at Paramount Senior Living South Hills and Gallagher.  It was a great comfort knowing that you were watching over her.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, Jane would love it if you would show someone that you care, whether that is in the form of charity or having a get-together with a loved-one.
