Sometimes there aren’t words to describe how much someone will be missed.

Jay Richard Lubawski was a loving partner, father, step-father, grandfather and friend to many.

Born on July 30th 1960, in Pittsburgh, PA, Jay lived in West Virginia, Maryland and Florida throughout his life before settling in Bethel Park, PA, meeting many friends along the way.

An avid athlete and baseball player, he was once scouted by the Baltimore Orioles, and later served as a coach on his kid’s teams. A lifelong fisherman, Jay always found peace on a lake in his fishing boat with his son and a pole in hand, or taking a long ride on his motorcycle. Jay spent most of his career in general contracting, owning his own business and serving the community with integrity.

Preceded in death by his mother Sandra Ritz of Pittsburgh and James Lubawski of Long Island, NY. He is survived by his longtime love Sue, beloved dog, Auggie, and his brother David (Aimee) of Penn Hills. He is also survived by his 3 children, Matthew (Nikki) of Uniontown, Stephanie Ciranni (Preston) of Bethel Park, Peter (Molly) of Bethel Park, and 2 step-daughters Elyse Milliron (Andrew) of Bethel Park, and Kelly Hall (Christopher) of Canonsburg. He was deeply adored by his grandchildren Emily, Ava, Mya, Kennedy, Jameson and Aiden, and a new grandson arriving in June 2023.

Memorial services will be private for the closest family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Bridge to Home Animal Rescue of Eighty Four, https://www.bridgetohome84.org/.

Our hearts are truly saddened by the news of Jay's passing. Jay has been a long time family friend who will be sorely missed by so many people. His wittiness and his care for people and animals was genuine and that is what we loved most about him. Jay will be sorely missed by us. We are sending many prayers to his family during this very difficult time. Warm regards, Art, Lisa, David and Patty
