Jean M. Mazzie

Jean M. Mazzie, age 93, of Kennedy Township, PA, formerly of Greentree, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026.

Born on December 16, 1932, in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ubaldo and Emilia Merelli. Jean was the beloved wife of the late Frank (Fortunato) Mazzie.

Jean was a proud and dedicated business owner, having operated Fortunato’s Restaurant for 15 years. She took great pride in her work and the relationships she built through her business. Above all, Jean was a devoted wife, mother, and sister who cherished her family deeply. She especially loved spending time with her loved ones in Florida, where she enjoyed many winters filled with warmth, laughter, and treasured memories.

She is the loving mother of Debbie (the late Ken) Moir and Barbara (Tom) Mazzie Rose, and was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Fortunato “Nato” Mazzie Rose. Jean is also preceded in death by her siblings Josephine Capuzzi, Madeline Polito, Dominic Merelli, Peter Merelli, and Helen Ross. She is survived by many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

Jean will be remembered for her strength, her devotion to family, and the love she shared so generously with those around her.

Private arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, McMurray, PA. The family kindly requests no flowers, and asks that condolences and prayers be shared in her memory.
