Jeanne Sowal Laporte, 79 of Robinson Township, passed away suddenly on Friday, April 19, 2024. She was born in New Kensington, PA on August 19, 1944, the daughter of the late Victor and Stella Sowal.

Beloved wife of Joseph Laporte; loving sister of Vickie (Ed) Oles; a very special aunt of Matthew (Lily Espinoza) Oles, Pablo Zambrano, and Hilary (Todd) Smith. Jeanne is also survived by her in-laws Daniel (Phyllis) Laporte, and their children Samuel (Daniel and Hazel), Elizabeth (Lily and Gloria) and Jennifer (Isla), and Robert Laporte; as well as her dear friend, Deb Otlano.

Jeanne was a dedicated elementary school teacher and principal at St. Norbert’s Catholic School in Overbrook. After her retirement from teaching she became a successful realtor. She loved nature and was a fun-loving and caring person. Everyone she met was a possible new friend. Jeanne was very creative and loved to plan parties and family gatherings, making them extra special.

Friends and family will gather on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 5405 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Township, PA 15136.

I am sad to see Jeanne suddenly passed. My heart aches. I am very sorry Joe. We go back to when she worked at McCormick & Brownlee. In fact I had her list my moms home long ago. My sweet friend, sleep with the angels. 🌹
