Joan Georgette (Popello) Doles, a cherished resident of Whitehall, PA, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2024, at the age of 79. She was born on May 9, 1945, in Pittsburgh, PA, to her parents, the late Laura Fortini and Joseph Popello.
Joan was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother whose warmth, humor and kindness left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her. She is survived by her children, Kimberly (Brian) Nicholas and Mark (Lynelle) DeNapoli, whom she loved unconditionally. Joan’s sister, Janet Hanley, was her lifelong confidante and companion through all of life’s joys and challenges.
As a grandmother, Joan’s love knew no bounds. She leaves behind four adoring grandchildren: Rhya Buys, Marissa Nicholas, Markus and Matthew DeNapoli and her great-granddaughter, Kinsley Victoria Buys. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support will forever remain in their hearts.
Joan’s legacy extends beyond her family, as she touched the lives of many with her genuine kindness, infectious laughter, and unwavering strength. Her compassion knew no limits, and her presence brought comfort to all who knew her.
Her home was always filled with love and laughter, and she created countless cherished memories with those she held dear. Joan was a dedicated hairstylist who touched the hearts of her many clients with her comedic personality.
Although Joan will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love of those who cherished her most.
Family and friends are welcome on June 12, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 5405 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Township, PA 15136. A service will take place following the visitation at 7:30 p.m. at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, Robinson Township.
