It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of John A. Furner on September, 10, 2024, husband to Ana M. Furner, and father to John J. Furner, Ana S. Antlitz, Michelle B. Galusha, and Robert J. Furner. He was also a beloved grandfather to Travis, Brandon, and Hillary Cho, Olivia Furner, Morgan and Natalie Galusha, as well as, Reid and Wiley Furner-Moore. Cherished great grandfather to Chrissie Cho.

John was a proud Air Force veteran who served honorable tours in Germany and Spain, where he met the love of his life in Seville. After his military service, John channeled his intellect and creativity into a successful career as a tech writer, programmer, and senior systems engineer. A lifelong learner, he was passionate about innovation and invention. Among his notable achievements were a patented audio processor and a groundbreaking parts failure prediction system developed for the FAA, enhancing the safety of commercial air travel.

Known affectionately as a “Mad Scientist,” John had a knack for creating electronic gadgets and a mind that thrived on problem-solving. His quick wit and humor brought joy to those around him, making him a cherished companion and an unforgettable presence. John was a dedicated family man, fiercely loyal to those he loved. He instilled a sense of curiosity and resilience in his children and inspired countless others with his work ethic and creativity.

He will be greatly missed.
