John Charles Stanton, age 78, of Cranberry Township, formerly of Cecil, PA, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Born on January 30, 1947, in Bobtown, PA, John was the beloved son of the late John and Geraldine Stanton. He was the devoted husband of over 50 years to Suzanne Stanton, with whom he built a life full of love, laughter, and family.

A proud and loving father, John is survived by his daughters Jackie (Bob) Horwat and Jerie (Drew) Keele. He was also the cherished grandfather of Nicholas and Mason Horwat. Among his many joys in life, nothing brought John more pride than watching his grandson Mason follow in his footsteps as a baseball pitcher. From cheering on little league games to high school matchups, and now proudly watching Mason take the mound at Penn State University, John was always his grandson’s biggest fan.

John’s love for his family, his quiet strength, and his unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of John’s life will be planned for a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take a moment to watch a game, cheer a little louder, and remember the joy that comes from simply being together.
