He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on December 20, 1939, to the late Viola and John “Dutch” Stromple.
Jack’s love for his family was unwavering. He leaves behind his cherished wife of 57 years, Diana Monaco Stromple, with whom he built a beautiful family and a life filled with love. Jack is survived by his beloved children, Kim (Jan) Stromple, Kelley (Frank) Crisanti, and Diana (Mike) Boehme. He took immense pride in being a devoted grandfather to Vincent, Joel, Joshua, Madison, Cathrynn, and Olivia and a loving great-grandfather to Alejandra and Jackson. He is also remembered as a dear brother-in-law to Dolores (Donald “Buzzy”) Schweitzer and Carol Monaco and as a devoted uncle to Sandra (Eric), Donald (Sue), Michael, Craig, and Christopher, and great-uncle to Brad, Leah, Brooklyn, Dylan, and Colby.
Jack was preceded in death by his brother William (Jacky) Stromple, sister-in-law Eileen (Brad) Bradley, and brother-in-law Domenick Monaco.
Jack proudly served his country in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam era, a service he held dear to his heart. Honored by the Allegheny County Commissioners for his bravery during the Port Authority Trolley Accident at Station Square on October 28, 1987, he heroically saved the lives of 32 passengers, showcasing the power of one person’s actions in a crisis.
