John R. “Jack” Rupprecht, age 88, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2024.

Beloved husband of Mary Lou (McDermott) Rupprecht; loving father of Jack (Nancy) Rupprecht Jr., Carol (Eric) Brinkhoff, Joseph Rupprecht and James Rupprecht. He was the cherished grandfather of Jeffrey, Jenny, and Emily Rupprecht; Christie, Katie, Erik and Allie Brinkhoff; Elijah, Ethan, Grace, and Olivia Rupprecht; and 12 great grandchildren; He is also survived by his loving sister, Carol Rodgers.

Jack graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Pharmacy School in 1957. Jack was a Pharmacist and very active in and proud of his professional career.  He served in many roles- retail, hospital, consulting, mentor, management, and administration in Pittsburgh (Falk Clinic, UPMC Central Pharmacy). He was the Chief Pharmacist at Minneapolis General Hospital, manager of retail Pharmacy at Rite Aid in Pittsburgh and Florida and Winn-Dixie and Walmart in Florida. In addition, he was selected as one of only 5 Hospital Pharmacists in the US that served as a consultant to 5 major Pharmaceutical Manufacturers. He was the President of both the Western PA Society of Hospital Pharmacy in 1976 as well as President of Allegheny County Pharmaceutical Association in 1973. He was the only Pharmacist to serve in both positions. Jack was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award in 1976 by the School of Pharmacy Faculty at the University of Pittsburgh.  Jack was humbled to have served his profession and patients throughout his 57-year career.

In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his loving family. Jack loved gardening, taking care of his lawn, cheering on the Steelers, and was an avid golfer. Amazingly, Jack had 5 hole-in-one’s in his beloved hobby. His final hole-in-one was witnessed by his two sons and grandson. He also loved reading his Bible.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 10:00 am to St. Margaret of Scotland Church of St. Raphael Archangel Parish, 310 Mansfield Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15220.
