Jon was one of the good guys. He has touched so many people over the years and he will be missed by all, but never forgotten. We last saw him playing at the Cuddy Club and he was so positive. I grew up living up the street from Jon and he was always the laid back guy who lived, loved and laughed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends and a special God Bless to his brother Jeff. Can't even imagine how that must feel.

Jon, such a quiet, peaceful person that's made a lasting impact on those that knew him. He had a generous spirit. He really didn't mind having bee hives on his hill!-and always took an interest in how the bees were progressing. I was always impressed by his dedication to his family which knew no bounds, especially for Jake. From those 5 am hockey practice mornings to his pride in Jake's college degree and more, Jon was calmly supporting Jake's efforts. And all of those Jackson Brown concerts that he and Alfie attended! Now that's dedication.:) We'll miss you Jon. There's an empty place now that we didn't anticipate in all of this.

Every once in a while life gives you an unexpected gift that turns out to be immeasurable. I could never have imagined that my family and I would have the great fortune to call Jon, Alfie, and Jake our dearest friends. It started by chance when Jon moved in next door, and from there our friendship grew stronger with time, daiquiris and club med, countless Halloweens, New Years Eves, karaoke-fests,and the funnest vacation my family has enjoyed. Jon, Alfie, and Jake became family to us. We feel so privileged to have shared in the struggles and joys that come with raising a family; and to have witnessed firsthand the strength of their commitment along with the love and tenderness they have shown each other...especially over the last few years. Still, what is most amazing to me is that this story is not mine exclusively, which is the real magic of their family. Together they made every friend feel special, every person listened to and valued, and every guest welcomed and enjoyed. I can't really bring myself to think of what it is going to be like without Jon there, and will miss his warmth and that genuine smile that greeted me and let me know he was truly happy to see me. Jon, you fought so long and so hard. I hope you are resting easy knowing you are dearly loved by so many, and that we are all the better for having known you.

I was lucky enough to grow up with Jon, Alfie, and Jake as part of my extended family. They were part of holidays and birthdays, and just summer weekends when Jon would send us around the yard in the go-cart. The thing that I will never forget about Jon, a part that is etched into my heart as a picture of his whole personality, is his warm, gentle smile. When Jon smiled or laughed, his whole face lit up with such joy - anyone who saw it automatically felt his warmth and love. For my entire childhood and so much of my adulthood, Jon treated me with such kindness and made sure I knew I was important to him. It is something I will never forget, and I feel so lucky to have had him in my life and to know his smiling face.
