Jon M. Summers

Jon M. Summers, age 77, of West Mifflin formerly of Moon Township, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. Preceded in death by his late wife Penny Arlene Summers, parents Michael Franklin and Betty Lou Summers and brother Steven Christopher Summers. Survived by live in partner Jane Wacker; sister Laurie (Gary) Summers Blevins; nieces Erin Margaret Blevins, Rachael Ann Kroger, and Jessica Summers; also numerous cousins. Jon was born in Cape Girardeau, MO where he will have his final resting place buried with his parents. He attended Logan High School, OH and graduated from Fairmont State College with his Bachelors Degree and Duquesne University with a Master’s in Education and a Degree in Counseling. Jon dedicated many years working for the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. After retirement, Jon volunteered as a grief councelor at Presbyterian Church of Coraopolis where he helped many people. He had a love of sports, playing high school football and tennis regularly with his father. Jon was a proud member of the Coraopolis Masonic Lodge #674 for 48 years and will be honored with a Masonic Memorial Service. Private arrangements entrusted Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, Robinson Township.
