As a young man, Joey Gene was an exceptional Football and Lacrosse athlete and student.  He was voted Captain and Football MVP for the St. Louise De Marillac Trojans prior to graduation.  As a high school Freshman, he organized and captained the first Peters Twp. HS Boys Lacrosse program commencing in 1995 where he excelled as an all WPSLA Conference Midfielder while becoming a 4 year letterman.  In addition to Lacrosse, Joey was a 4 year middle linebacker for the PT Football teams where he earned 3 Varsity letters.  As a most accomplished student, Joey received a BS degree from Washington & Jefferson College in 2003 prior to earning a MBA in 2005.  By 2010, he had accomplished a most successful career as an entrepreneur with Subway Restaurant & Foods, soleowner of 3 franchise locations in the Pittsburgh area.  For recreation, Joey would spend countless hours in body building, watching MMA and WWE matches along with attending WrestleMania and Smack Down events throughout the USA.  Above all else, his passion involved “rough-housing” with his adored dogs Maf, Oz, Rambo and Samantha.  Joey’s resolve, infectious smile and laughter will never be forgotten by his family, friends and employees.  His spirit will live on and always be perfectly loved.

I just met Joey right before Thanksgiving. We got to spend a significant amount of time together and his love for his pups and family and his ambition shown bright. He was an absolute sweetheart and I will miss him very much. I will never forget him.
