Joseph Thomas Popiden, 97, of Robinson Township, formerly of McKees Rocks, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022. He was born July 9, 1924, and is the son of the late Joseph and Mary (O’Malley) Popiden and husband of the late Pauline (Shibble) Popiden. Loving father of Joseph S. Popiden and Joan (Popiden) Sakai; brother of John Popiden; grandfather of David and Daniel Popiden and Kimiko, S’kai and Alana Sakai. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. Joseph served in the U.S. Army during WW II and received the Bronze Star. He worked as an electrician for Shenango Inc. He had many friends and was loved by everyone. Friends will be received on Monday, June 27, 2022, from 4-8 pm at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 5405 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Township, PA 15136 (412) 787-1800. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday the 28th at 10 am at Archangel Gabriel Parish, Holy Trinity Church, 5718 Steubenville Pike, McKees Rocks, PA 15136. Burial will follow.
