Joyce A. Hess, age 76, of McDonald, PA, formerly of Neville Island, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026.

Joyce was the beloved wife of 43 years to Wayne Hess. Born on November 20, 1949, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the cherished daughter of the late Helen and Phil Wuenstel.

A devoted and loving mother, Joyce leaves behind her sons, Brandon (Debra) Hess and Zachary (Jenna) Hess. She was a proud grandmother to Ethan, Lorelei, Parker and Bentley, who brought immense joy to her life.

Joyce was preceded in death by her brother, Philip Wuenstel.

She had a love for shopping, thrifting, and couponing, always delighted by a good bargain. Joyce was incredibly creative and enjoyed knitting, sewing, crafting, and beadwork, often sharing her talents with those she loved. She enjoyed a glass of wine and never turned down her favorite sweet treat, red velvet cake or cheesecake. Joyce will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A gathering of family & friends will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 2:00 pm until the time of service at 7:00 pm at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 5405 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Township, PA.

My Condolences to Wayne, Brandon and Zach. Joyce was so welcoming to me when I transferred from SAN to Pit in 2001. She was always cooking and baking goodies for all her friends and family. She made me feel at home when I visited. She took me in several times during my short PIT Res stay 2001-2004. Joyce was only 10 years older than me but somehow became like a second mother that I must have needed. RIP 🙏 Joyce with love Gary b Johnson from San Diego.
