Kay Braisted, age 83, of McDonald, PA, departed from this world peacefully on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. She was born on December 17, 1940, to the late George and Doris May Kelley. Kay was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Timothy Braisted.

Kay leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She was the adored mother of Kelly (Keith) Carryer, Phyllis (John) Gregord, Gregory (Leslie) Woodhall, and Veronica (Shawn) Clark. Her nurturing spirit extended to her 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

In addition to her immediate family, Kay is survived by her siblings: George Kelley, William (Lisa) Kelley, Jill Trexler, and Lauren (Edward) Coyle. She was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Thomas. Kay also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will hold her memory dear.

Kay Braisted was a woman with a heart as vast as the horizon. She cherished her friendships, particularly relishing the company of her dear friends in the “Lunch Bunch.” Traveling with her friend Nancy brought her immense joy, each adventure etching memories that would last a lifetime.

She was quick-witted and brimming with humor. Her family was her pride and joy, and she poured her boundless energy into creating a home filled with love. Kay was a true force of nature, a ball of fire whose warmth touched all who knew her.

Though she may have left this earthly realm, her spirit will forever dance in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Rest in peace, dear Kay, your light will continue to shine brightly in our memories.

Friends will be received on Monday, June 3, 2024 from 1:00-3:00 P.M. and 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 5405 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Township, PA 15136. A service will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Inurnment will be private at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, McKees Rocks, PA.
