LaVerne B. Lane, 84, of Castle Shannon, PA, passed away peacefully at home on June 23, 2026.
Born on September 9, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Beatrice Algeo.
LaVerne enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and was always ready to try her luck. She loved playing Bingo and Keno, buying lottery tickets, and spending time at the dog races. These favorite pastimes brought her much enjoyment over the years and gave her many stories to share with family and friends.
LaVerne was the beloved wife of the late Louis B. Lane. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Kenneth (Liz) Algeo, William (Carolyn) Algeo, Doreen (Tim) Riley, Eleanor (Bernard) Brody, Bernice (William) Shickert, Marylou (Frank) Munizza, and Jeannette (Cyril Anthony) Knipling.
She is survived by her loving son, Lou Lane; her cherished grandchildren, Mikayla and Michael Lane; her sister, Joanne (Anthony) Diulus; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Family and friends are welcome gather onMonday July 6, 2026 from 10:00 am until time of Blessing Service at 12:00 p.m. at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317.
LaVerne will be remembered for her love of family, her independent spirit, and the joy she found in the little things that made life fun.
Burial will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
