On Thursday, November 5, 2020, Lawrence David Elbaum, passed away at the age of 72. Larry was born on May 8, 1948 in Squirrel Hill to Bernie Elbaum and Leatrice “Sis” (Kardon) Brown.  He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, then Duquesne University, going on to work as a psychotherapist specializing in addiction treatment for a career spanning nearly 40 years. In 1982, he married Nancy Parme; two years later, the birth of their son, Lucas, brought a new light into their lives, followed by the joyous birth of their beautiful daughter, Juliette, seven years later.  Larry was a friend, ally and confidant to many in the Pittsburgh arts community and beyond. His love of music, film and the arts was infectious to his family and friends, many of whom would be forced to admit, “I heard it from Larry first.”  He is survived by his mother, his wife and two children, his brother Robert, and all those who will miss him dearly.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to support his family’s expenses at this fundraiser (https://gf.me/u/y7q68h), or Alcoholics Anonymous (www.aa.org), an organization which Larry supported, and found much support from, throughout his life.
