Leona R. Wynne

Leona Rita Wynne (née Mancini), 83, of Bridgeville, PA, formerly of Marblehead, MA, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, with her family beside her. She was born on April 28, 1943.

Leona grew up in Northfield, VT, the daughter of Steven and Rita Mancini. As a young woman, she left rural Vermont to build a life in Boston, where she studied cosmetology, worked as a hairdresser, and met her future husband, Alan Wynne. They settled in Marblehead, MA, raised their children, Adam and Dana, and later retired together in Falmouth. They were married 51 years until Alan passed away in 2022. In her later years, Leona lived with her daughter, Dana, in Salem before moving to Bridgeville, PA, to be close to her grandchildren.

Leona had a creative spirit. She loved antiques, crafts, sewing, and fashion, and for years she ran her own antique store in Marblehead. She made pillows and other sewn pieces by hand, and early on, she had a brief stint as a clothing model in Boston. At her retirement community, she was known as the resident fashionista. While living in Falmouth, she also sang in barbershop groups, chorus, and solo performances. Later in life, she often talked about growing up in Vermont, about the horses she’d loved since she was a girl, the vegetables they grew in their garden, and the good times she shared with her sister Gloria and their friends in that small rural community.

Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Alan, and her parents, Steven and Rita Mancini. She is survived by her daughter, Dana; her son, Adam, and his wife, Suzanne; her granddaughters, Ava and Julia; and her sister, Gloria.
