Leslie Elaine Mundell, 61, passed away unexpectedly at her home on June 2, 2026, following many years of increasingly serious health problems. She lived life on her own terms, never bound by usual convention or expectations. She was the daughter of Dr. Robert Mundell and the late Lorraine Mundell. In addition to her father, she is survived by her sister, Amy (David) Bahm, her aunt and uncle, nephews, and cousins.  She is also survived by her many friends, with whom she was very big-hearted over the years.

Leslie was a graduate of Clarion University and dedicated herself to shaping young minds as a special education teacher. Her patience, wisdom and concern left an indelible mark on countless students over the years. She really connected with many of her students, some of whom kept in touch with her long after they graduated.

Outside the classroom, Leslie loved music and was particularly fond of heavy metal music groups. She learned how to play the piano as a three-year old and could play by ear anything she heard. She was also a passionate cat lover who named at least one cat after a heavy metal band. Leslie shared a special bond with her feline companions who brought immense happiness to her daily life. Private services were held. Arrangements by Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, McMurray, PA.
