Lisa A. Harding, age 52, of Eighty Four, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 10, 2023. Born June 1970, she was eldest of four born to D. Thomas and Rosemary Emery, also of Eighty Four, PA. In addition to her parents, Lisa is also survived by her three wonderful children, Tristin (Kasey), Jude, and Michaela, as well as her siblings, nieces and nephews.

After high school, Lisa went on to study at Elon College, Walden University, and earned her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Virginia Tech. Her resume details her work as a teacher of middle school and gifted education in literature, creative writing, and English Composition. She was known to be an effective and enthusiastic educator and leader. Later in her career she greatly enjoyed her role as a vice principal. Lisa’s true resume however is the one written on the minds and hearts of those she touched throughout her life and career.

Lisa took pleasure in cooking and baking, gardening, reading, crafting, socializing, a sense of humor and a good story. She was competitive by nature, rarely backing down from the opportunity to demonstrate her skills at playing cards, trivia, games, or family baking competitions. Lisa loved to teach and share her knowledge and expertise with others. She cherished the simple pleasures of spending time with friends and family. Always loved, forever missed, never forgotten.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 4 – 8 p.m. at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Rd, McMurray, PA 15317.

Lisa was not with our Pine-Richland family for long but made an impact while she was with us. She was so positive and made sure to point out our individual strengths. She is gone too soon and will be greatly missed.

I am so sad to only have the chance to know Lisa this past fall when she joined our PR Family. Even though we only got to work together for a short time, she was an amazing role model- ready to listen, contribute and impact even when she didn’t feel well. I can only imagine the lives she changed throughout her career because of who she was. My heart goes out to her children and family. May you live life knowing you have one heck of a guardian angel watching over you!

Our wonderful friend, cohort member, and colleague, Dr. Lisa Harding, added much to our lives. She was a brilliant educator and an effective school leader. She was extremely intelligent and always willing to help others. I was fortunate to have studied and worked with her in her time at Virginia Tech and with Chesapeake Public Schools. Sending much love to her family at this difficult time. 🌻💕🌻

Lisa is truly a special person. A leader who, after taking her leave, became a friend. She is the most kind and thoughtful person and someone who made each day count. I will miss Lisa- a leader, model, and a silent warrior for all that is good. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
