Lois A. (DeWalt) Alworth

Lois A. (DeWalt) Alworth, age 93, of Redstone Highlands in Murrysville, PA died January 15,  2023. Her daughters were able to surround her with love and say goodbye at home under the care of hospice.

She was born February 7, 1928 in McKeesport, the daughter of Louis A. and Virginia (Latta) DeWalt.

 She was a proud Westminster College graduate and member of  Kappa Delta Sorority. She taught school in Pittsburgh and Gateway schools for many years.

She was a member of Queen Alliquippa Chapter, DAR for over 60 years.  She was also a member and former officer of the Monroeville Historical Society and involved in the McGinley/McCully House and Old Stone Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Mack Alworth, and sister, Virginia DeWalt Gibson.

She is survived by her three daughters: Gwen E. Wolfson (husband, Thomas Wolfson) of Hayden, Idaho, Guion A.Valle (husband, Richard Valle) of Pompton Plains, NJ, Glynis A. Welte ( husband , Christopher Welte) of Charlottesville, VA, as well as her four grandchildren: Tyler Wolfson, Delaney Beecher, Brenna Valle, and Greer Welte.

There will be no public viewing or services.  She will be interred in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with her husband.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bridges Hospice 4130 Monroeville Blvd. Monroeville, PA 15146.
