"The river has great wisdom and whispers its secret to the hearts of men."-Mark Twain Three great loves of Louise Cooley are contained within this single quote. She and I shared our love for Twain, America' s finest author. He captured the wonderous adventures of a young lad, Huck, on the Mississippi River. Louise identified with Finn when quoted,"You feel mighty free and easy and comfortable on a raft." She found solace and experienced a deep connection with her God, the Creator of all, when drifting along the river with family and friends. Louise also shared with me her unshakable faith that God's love for us sustains us on our journey through this life until we cross over the Jordan River to be with her Lord, our Savior, and all who share her same belief. If we carefully listen, Louise Cooley will still share with us her wisdom and secrets of her heart.

Losing someone we love is not easy. We realize that we are blessed to have been able to share in Louise's life before she went to rest in eternal salvation. I have such fond memories of treasured times shared with her. My father, Jim Smith, will always cherish the memories of times spent with his very dear friend, Louse. They shared a lifelong friendship and the mutual respect and love they shared was and continues to be endearing. Heaven rejoiced when Louise arrived at the pearly gates. We will miss you!
