Lyn S. Sullivan, 72, of Ingram, PA, formerly of Butler, PA, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side, on Saturday, August 17, 2024. She was born in Harrisburg, PA on October 24, 1951 and is the daughter of the late Jacob and Yvonne Harder.

Lyn earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Pittsburgh and dedicated her life to caring for others. Even in the face of her own health challenges, Lyn’s compassionate spirit never wavered.

Lyn enjoyed her time traveling cross-country before ultimately planting her roots with her husband Bob, raising their family in Pittsburgh. Over nearly 50 years of marriage, they built a life rooted in love, respect, and mutual support. Lyn’s sharp wit and sarcasm brought humor and lightness to their relationship, and she remained a source of strength for her family. Lyn lived a life filled with love, laughter, and formed deep connections with many near and far, that she cherished. She was the strongest and proud matriarch of her family. She was a devoted wife and mother and adored her grandchildren.

She is survived by her beloved husband Robert of 49 years; her loving children, Dylan (Lisa) Sullivan, Jacob (Erin) Sullivan, and Mariah (Matthew) Chynoweth; her dear sister Amy Harder; and her adored grandchildren, Madison, Makenzie, Sydney, and Sienna.

In keeping with Lyn’s wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral service. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, as they remember her warmth, humor, and the love she shared. Lyn was known for often saying, “This too shall pass,” a phrase that reflected her resilient and optimistic outlook on life. It was a reminder to herself and those around her that even in difficult times, better days were ahead. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lyn’s name to a charity close to your heart.
Arrangements entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, Robinson Township.
