Marian T. Wilbar

March 10, 1923 to September 9, 2021

After a life well lived, Marian Wilbar passed away quietly on 09/09/21 at age 98.  She was married to the  love of her life, the late George H. Wilbar III for 68 years.  

Marian was an avid golfer for many years and an active member of the Plymouth Meeting Country Club.  She was awarded the club’s most improved golfer in 1968 and recognized for her hole in one in 1987.

Marian and George were also very active members of Grace Lutheran Church in Norristown PA many years.  

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, James and Bess Tarr, brothers Jim, Jack and Bill and sister Jennie.  She is survived by her nephews Bill, John, David and Blair (Kate) Tarr and niece Ellen Tarr, her brother in law, Bob Wilbar and his wife Jan and cousin Betty Shepherd. 

Marian also leaves behind many friends who will remember her for her liveliness, feistiness and love of those who she considered “good company”.  She was a marvelous hostess to her extended family and often noted the door to her homes often seemed to be revolving as one set of guests left and another arrived.  Marian was also known for her love of cats and had a series of them, including one very bad Siamese named Sam.  

Marian will be missed by all who knew her.  Services are private.
