Mary Jo and I, along with our other best friends, Vicki and Nelli spent the best years of our lives together at Wilkinsburg High School in the 70's as cheerleaders. Those years will always be remembered with so much love, fun and joy. I was lucky enough to be in her wedding and got to know Josh and Deanna when they were very little before I moved away. Mary Jo, my friend, rest in peace.

Mj was truly one of a kind, a purple powerhouse who brought so much light and positivity to everyone she met. She went above and beyond in every aspect of her life, and I am forever grateful for the impact she had on mine. She was a constant supporter of my business, always there to offer advice, encouragement, and her incredible energy. I had the honor of having Mj as the very first chapter in my anthology Twenty Won, and she didn't stop there—she went above and beyond to interview all the women in the book, giving each of them a platform to share their stories. Her dedication to empowering women and lifting others up was unmatched, and her legacy will live on through the lives she touched. My heart goes out to her children and grandchildren, who were her greatest joys. She spoke about them with such pride and love, and I know her spirit will continue to shine through them. Mj, you will be deeply missed, but your impact and your purple light will forever be remembered.

My prayers to the family. I knew MaryJo in High school. We shared the fields together as she cheered and I was a majorette. Those were good times that I will always cherish. She was such a kind person. Rest in peace.

My heart is deeply saddened by this loss. MJ touched so many lives with her kindness and warmth. While words can never fully express the sorrow, my thoughts are with her family during this difficult time. May cherished memories bring them moments of peace and comfort.
