As a presently retired United States Magistrate Judge, I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Mike since he came to Pittsburgh. His time of service here was a wonderful addition to our community, and his passing is a great loss to all of us. Sincerest condolences to your family and thanks for sharing him with us.

Mrs. Baughman, Tyler and Jenna, I am so sorry for your loss. Mike was a good man, a man of distinction, a man of honor. Mike was very devoted to his family, as I remember no matter the topic of discussion he always talked about his family. Mike was a favorite when he appeared at my Citizen Police Academy, and he was great at keeping everyone informed. It was a true honor to call Mike a friend and I want you to know that he will be missed. Heaven is a better place with his presence. If you need anything, please do not hesitate to ask. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. Tom Rigatti & Family Retired Bethel Park Police Officer

I had the privilege of working closely with Mike while I was serving as the Chief Judge of our federal court in Pittsburgh and he was the US Marshal. Mike was a consummate professional, focused always on the safety and security of the community and the courts, and those that we served. While working with him in good and not so good times, I came to appreciate and value greatly his judgment and perspectives. His wise counsel as the COVID-19 pandemic unfolded was critical to the work of the courts continuing as best as could be done in unprecedented times. And always, his calm professionalism coupled with good cheer and quiet confidence were the hallmarks of his work. Mike dearly loved his family and our hearts go out to them at this most difficult time. God speed, Mike, a faithful public servant of integrity and compassion.
