Michael George Culan, 89, of Bethel Park, PA, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025.

Michael was born on November 5, 1936 to the late Mary and John Culan.

He was the loving husband of Verna (Rectenwald), devoted father of Kristin, Karin, and Michael (Tracy), cherished grandfather to Lucas, Brandon, Jacob, and Noah. Brother of Paul, Martha and William. He was preceded in death by his brother, John.

Michael was a natural athlete, a handsome man of integrity, character and the love of our family’s life.  He was a member of the US Air Force and went on to owning and operating Michael’s Hair Studio, where his artistic talents raised his family.

His main focus was always about his family.  The bond shared with Michael as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle will be forever etched in the souls of his family.

He was an avid golfer, reader, and his favorite cities were Washington D.C. and Paris, France.

One of Michael’s strengths was sports.  In his younger years he played baseball, football, basketball, swimming, golf, and soccer.  When Michael had his children he devoted his time to teaching them athletics which carried on through the next generation.  His grandsons are all amazing athletes.  However, the most incredible thing Michael succeeded in was being the Best Husband, Dad, and Pap ever.

Fly High.  We love you.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 5pm-8pm at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA, 15317. A blessing service will be held at 1:15 pm on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, followed by full military honors and interment at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. All arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care.
