Mitchell R. “Mitch” Collinsworth, age 56, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, formerly of Stanton, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly on April 23, 2026.

Born on March 26, 1970, in Martinez, California, Mitch was the beloved son of Margaret Hobbs and John Collinsworth. He was the devoted husband of Rachael Collinsworth, with whom he shared 26 wonderful years of love, partnership, and unwavering support.

Mitch was a proud and loving father to Alexander “Alex” Collinsworth and Mitchell P. “Rick” Collinsworth. He was a devoted brother to Barbara (Chris) Joseph and a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.

A deeply patriotic man, Mitch carried a strong sense of pride for his country throughout his life. He was a hardworking and resourceful individual who approached life with determination and ingenuity, often finding creative, outside-the-box solutions and never shying away from a challenge. If something needed fixed, Mitch was always the first to step in and get the job done.

He had a passion for woodworking and took great pride in brewing, especially crafting his own wine and liquor. Mitch was known for his sharp wit and twisted sense of humor, often speaking his mind without a filter, bringing laughter and authenticity to those around him.

Above all, Mitch was a family man. He was present, supportive, and deeply invested in the lives of his children. He encouraged them to grow, to learn from his experiences, and to become better people. He shared a special bond with his son Rick, as the two spent countless hours working side by side fixing vehicles and tackling projects together. Mitch’s guidance and influence helped shape Rick’s career, a legacy that will carry on in meaningful ways.

He also shared a special companionship with his beloved dogs, Jack and Gannon, who brought him great joy and loyalty throughout the years.

Mitch will be remembered as a devoted husband, a proud father, a loyal brother, and a man who gave his all to those he loved. His presence, humor, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends are welcome on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 5405 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Township, PA 15136. A service will take place Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 11:00 am at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

I was deeply saddened by hearing about the passing of Mitch. I worked closely with him over the year and this hurts. He was a quick learner, intelligent, funny, helpful, and kind. I got to know him better over the Summer of 2025 on Saturdays, working overtime with him because he always volunteered with me. He never failed to volunteer with me and make that overtime more bearable. I will miss his humor and our shared love of 80s and 90s themed movies and quotes. My condolences to all the people who loved and respected him, I'm sure there is a long list of us out there. Characters like Mitch leave their mark and won't be soon forgotten.
