Nancy Adella Brown, age 87, of Canonsburg, PA, formerly of Burgettstown, PA crossed over to her heavenly Kingdom on May 26, 2023. She passed over peacefully in her sleep.
Beloved Wife of the late Herman Donald Brown of Burgettstown, PA.
Born on June 17, 1935, in Frankfort Springs, PA, she is the daughter of the late Leslie Wayne and Helen Caroline (Arnold) Lyons.
Loving Mother of Nancy Grant, Richard Rhoder, Terry L. Grant, Herman F. (Barbara) Brown, and Helen L. Brown.
Sister of Vennie Lyons, Dorothy Lyons and Walter Lyons.
Grandma of Kamela N. Gibbs, David D. Gibbs Jr., Joseph P. Brown, Casaundra R. Gibbs, and April M. Brown.
Great Grandma of J’Quay Gibbs, T’Rell Gibbs, Khalil Alexander, Khailiyah Alexander, O’Mari Gibbs, E’Lija Gibbs, Jaliyah Brown, Kamia Spool, Ryleigh Brown and Alayna Brown.
Preceded in death by her son,Ralph Rhoder, daughter Ruth A. Brown, brothers Leslie Lyons and Charles Lyons, grandsons DeWayne L. Gibbs and Billy J. Brown.
Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, extended Gibbs family and her best friend and coffee buddy Lillian Martin, whom she adored. Whether they knew it or not they all had a special place in her heart.
Nancy worked as a home health aide for many years. She was a Sunday school teacher her entire life until her illness made it impossible to attend church. She loved her flowers and playing dart ball at the local senior center. She truly enjoyed spending a bit of time with her Beta fish, Little Bit and Muffin, her Grandfurbaby.
Friends and family are welcome on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 11 am to 1 pm at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA. A service will take place at the funeral home immediately following visitation at 1 pm.
Interment will be held at a later date.
