Nancy (Riggs) Mahramas 1947 – 2025

Nancy (Riggs) Mahramas, 78, of Carnegie, PA, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Nancy was born in 1947 to Mona (Cleary) and Clair Riggs. Though an only child, she was never without brothers and sisters — her cousins and lifelong friends filled those roles, and those relationships remained at the center of her life. She grew up and stayed close to home in the Curry (Broughton) area of South Park Township, just outside of Pittsburgh.

After graduating from Snowden High School in 1965, Nancy became a hairdresser. She later attended nursing school and spent over 20 years as a Nurse’s Aide in Orthopedics at Jefferson Hospital. Whether at work or at home, Nancy enjoyed taking care of others, and it was what she did best.

Nancy married Jack Mahramas in 1974 and they shared nearly 50 devoted years together before Jack’s passing in 2023. She is survived by her sons, Nick (Jaime) and Ryan, and her grandsons, Ethan, Elijah, and Jonas, who will forever cherish their Yia Yia’s love and strength.

Nancy gave thoughtful gifts, always wore a smile, and made the people around her feel like they mattered. When she wasn’t caring for others, she was happiest in the sun — poolside or at the beach, especially Myrtle Beach.

Nancy’s legacy is one of resilience, kindness, and enduring love. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her. The family is grateful to the friends, family, and caregivers who were by her side in her final days.

No funeral service will be held, per Nancy’s wishes. Donations in her memory can be made to Gallagher Hospice:
