Norman W. Elliott, Sr.

Norman W. Elliott Sr, 80, went to be with the Lord on the afternoon of January 24, 2019. Norman was born July 22, 1938, son of Herbert and Susan Loy Elliott of Mt. Washington.  Upon graduation from South Hills High School in 1956, he immediately entered an apprenticeship with the American Iron and Steel Institute at Mellon Institute and then completed a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at University of Pittsburgh.  His passion for innovation led him to be one of the founders at Datagraphics Incorporated and subsequently started his own company Chem-Bac Environmental Systems Incorporated which he lead for 40 years.  He honorably served in the United States Army Engineer Corps from 1961 to 1969.  Norman was an avid collector of model trains, stamps, coins and vintage toys.

Norman is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Janet P. (Jasick) Elliott, his two children Janet S. Palek (Richard Palek), Norman W. Elliott Jr. (Julia Elliott) and three beloved grandchildren Tyler W. Elliott, Tory L. Elliott and Kennedy Ann Palek.

Viewing for friends and family will be on Sunday January 27, 2019 at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care (McMurray) from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.  Respects can be paid on Monday January 28, 2019 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (McMurray) at 10 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Norman’s name to “Our Redeemer Lutheran Church Memorial Fund” or “Wounded Warrior Project”.
